Bencoolen Street Benches

Unique benches designed by the NAFA 3D Design students and alumni line the revitalised Bencoolen Street today. Part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s ‘Our Favourite Place’ programme to enliven public spaces across Singapore, the specially-designed benches were officially launched on 28 May 2017.

The benches were created after a competition organised by NAFA for its students and alumni in 2016. Entries submitted were judged by a prestigious panel comprising representatives from the National Heritage Board, Land Transport Authority, NAFA and URA, as well as guest judge Mr Tan Kok Hiang.

The public can now rest at the benches after cycling or walking along the street, and take in the beautiful scenery around.
