Higher Education Bursary

HIGHER EDUCATION BURSARY

The Higher Education Bursary is funded by the Government (Ministry of Education) to provide financial assistance to students from the lower to middle income groups. This is part of the Government’s commitment to ensure that no able students are deterred by the cost of post-secondary education due to financial circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

Singapore citizens
Full-time MOE funded ^Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree students
Students must be on MOE Tuition Grant (TG)
Gross Monthly Household Per-capita Income (PCI) between S$1,101 - S$2,500 or Gross Monthly Household Income (GHI) between S$4,401 - S$10,000
Students who are not in receipt of the Higher Education Bursary or Higher Education Community Bursary in the same academic year

^ Sponsored students from the Diploma in Art Teaching and Diploma in Music Teaching are not eligible to apply.

Notes:

Gross Household Income (GHI) refers to the total gross monthly income of immediate family members, and non-immediate family members living in the same household.
Per-capita income (PCI) refers to gross household income (GHI) divided by number of immediate family members, and non-immediate family members living in the same household.

How to Apply

Application exercises are held twice per Academic Year in August and January.

Students commencing AY2026/2027 studies can apply for the first exercise of government bursary in Semester 1 upon term commencement in August 2026.
Dates for the second exercise in January 2027 will be published in StudentNet@Canvas by December 2026.

Existing students should refer to the StudentNet portal in December 2025 for the final AY25/26 exercise in January 2026.
