National Piano & Violin Competition 2017 Winners from NAFA
In celebration of NAFA’s 80th anniversary, the Junior Music Department puts together a winners’ concert to showcase their young talents who swept 79 prizes at various competitions in 2017. 13 musicians aged 10 to 16 years will showcase their brilliant performing skills and musical maturity on the piano, violin and cello.
The highlight of the concert will be 11 year-old violinist Chloe Chua who won several awards in 2017, including the 3rd prize at the 2nd Zhuhai International Mozart Competition, and 1st prize of the Junior category at the National Piano & Violin Competition. She is also the only representative from Singapore who will compete with young violinists worldwide at the prestigious Menuhin Competition in Geneva in April 2018.
Other outstanding performers include pianists Zhang Yi Fan and Tay Wan Ni.
