Touchstones: Art Rooted in Memory and Story celebrates an ongoing arts-in-health collaboration between Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Jurong Community Hospital and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore. Shaped by an Artist-in-Residence Programme with patients living with dementia, the exhibition brings together co-created and artist-led works inspired by patients’ memories, interests and lived experiences. At its opening, NAFA performing arts students present A Suitcase of Memories, an interactive performance that translates these stories into shared moments of reflection, participation and connection. Together, the exhibition and performance demonstrate how sustained collaboration among patients, healthcare professionals, artists and students can support expression, reminiscence and wellbeing, while affirming each patient as a person with a rich and meaningful life.
