Introduction to Decoupage
(4 sessions x 3 hours)Discover the charm of decorative arts through decoupage—the timeless technique of transforming everyday objects into beautiful keepsakes. Learn the fundamentals of decoupage, including surface preparation, design composition, layering, and sealing techniques. With step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on practice, learners will work on a variety of surfaces to upcycle household items or craft thoughtful handmade gifts. Whether you're new to crafting or looking to express creativity in a mindful, meditative way, this course offers a relaxing yet skill-building experience in the decorative arts.
Learning Outcomes:At the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:
- Choose and cut out suitable paper materials for decoupage projects.
- Prepare wood, glass and canvas surfaces for optimal decoupage results.
- Adhere paper to surfaces using decoupage techniques to create smooth and lasting designs.
- Paint backgrounds on projects using brushes or sponges to enhance the overall design.
- Apply varnish to decoupage projects to achieve a professional and durable finish.
- Create 4 projects on various surfaces.
A digital certificate will be issued upon successful course completion, which requires a minimum attendance rate of 75%.
