Hong Weng shifts among multiple independent roles as educator, writer, curator and artist. His recent projects include curating No Man’s Land (2014) and Ties and Fragrant Lies (2013) at One East Asia gallery and organising Manicured Nature & Illuminating Nature (2011) at Wallace Environmental Learning Laboratory in Dairy Farm Nature Park.

He has extensive experience as an educator and he believes particularly in the value of Art education. He has designed curriculum for and taught in a wide range of schools with Gifted Education and Integrated Programmes to Normal Technical Stream. He is now building up an in-depth understanding of Singapore and Southeast Asian contemporary art. He mobilises it as a field to engage in critical discourse relating to contemporary issues facing this region and to mould creative, critical and lateral thinking.
