About NAFA

Established in 1938, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) is Singapore’s pioneer arts education institution, well-known for grooming diverse artistic talent. Through industry-led practice and experiential learning, NAFA nurtures creative talents who lead at the forefront of both traditional and contemporary art practices.

The academy offers full-time diploma and degree courses through the School of Art & Design comprising 3D Design, Design & Media, Fashion Studies and Fine Art Programmes; School of Arts Management, Dance & Theatre; and School of Music.

NAFA has nurtured 13 Cultural Medallion Award recipients and 14 Young Artist Award winners among prominent alumni who play integral roles in the arts and creative fields, in Singapore and abroad.

HOW TO APPLY

International students residing in Malaysia are required to apply for admission to NAFA through the appointed education counsellors in Malaysia. Enrolment for the AY2023 intake will commence from October 2022 to March 2023. Applications made through non-NAFA appointed education counsellors will not be accepted.

Admission Requirements

International applicants who have completed at least 10 years of education may be considered for diploma application. Relevant supporting evidence of applicants’ achievements in the arts must be submitted with the admission application.

You may use your most recent school examination or preliminary examination results (which must be certified by your school) for application if your full results are available only in mid-2022.

School of Art & Design

The School of Art & Design (SOAD) offers multidisciplinary learning through its four programmes: 3D Design, Design & Media, Fashion Studies and Fine Art. With a focus on creative expression, technical competencies, integrative practices and critical thinking, SOAD takes the lead in contributing to contemporary arts and design education.

School of Arts Management, Dance & Theatre

The School of Arts Management, Dance & Theatre brings together the faculty and physical resources of the Arts Management, Dance & Theatre programmes to provide a unique partnership across the areas of Performance, Production and Management.

School of Music

The School of Music recognises that 21^st century musicians need new skills to help them stay relevant to the industry and to the wider community. The music curriculum is skills-centred and develops students to a high level of specialism.
