Despite the constant rain throughout the day, many visitors still went ahead to visit the Istana on the first and second day of Lunar New Year during its open house. The Istana received 17,554 visitors during the first full-scale open house since the COVID-19 pandemic. President Halimah wrote Chinese phrases using ink which read “Welcoming the Year of the Rabbit with Peace”.
