Dr Tan Lay Pheng is Director at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore, where she oversees the Quality & Governance Division, the Industry & Projects Division, and leads the Data & Information Office as NAFA’s Data Protection Officer.
Her career spans higher education, governance, and industry collaboration. Before joining NAFA, she taught at the DNA@NIE Learning Centre, Republic Polytechnic and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
With a PhD in Botany from NTU and experience across research, academia, community work and corporate communications, Dr Tan brings a unique cross‑disciplinary perspective to her work - blending scientific rigour, educational innovation, and institutional governance to build resilient frameworks for nurturing the creative talents in arts.
