Painting Smiles

As part of Central Singapore CDC’s Painting Smiles initiative, a total of 27 Fine Art and Art Teaching students participated in the design and creation of nine wall mural paintings now seen at the Bras Basah Complex. This arts initiative aims to bring smiles to residents by creating vibrant and cheerful shared community spaces in the Central Singapore District, through the use of bright and therapeutic colours on wall murals. In 2017, CDC collaborated with NAFA to provide an opportunity for students to contribute to this meaningful initiative through their skills and expertise.

The success of this first collaboration was celebrated on 30 April 2018 at NAFA Campus 1, with attendees from NAFA, CDC and the Bras Basah Merchant Association. Students were also presented with certificates of appreciation and prizes by CDC Mayor, Ms Denise Phua.
