Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Fashion (Top Up)

I was born and raised in Penang, Malaysia with a Peranakan heritage on my father's side. My path down the road of fashion designing was driven by the dreams of a child who enjoyed drawing clothes and aspired to see her name behind a famous fashion label. I draw my inspirations from the movies and stories that I watched and read, thus I often try to convey a story through my collections. Japanese fashion is a huge source of inspiration in my designing as I love the rich culture as well as the attitude in their dressing which drives the aesthetic of the fashion scene in Japan. I often incorporate the concept of deconstruction to give twists to basic garments as I believe every design is a derivative of what is already in the market.
