NAFA Scholarships and Awards Tea Session 2019

Donors, parents and award recipients recently gathered at the NAFA Scholarships and Awards Tea session, held annually for the award recipients to show their appreciation for the support and generosity of our donors. In his welcome address, Mr Chia Mia Chiang, President of NAFA, thanked the donors for their unwavering support. He shared that, “Our donors play a vital part in helping the academy achieve its mission, and we are grateful for their invaluable support and encouragement towards the academy and towards the many talented students who are pursuing an arts education with us.”

A total of 150 scholarships and awards, amounting to $780,000 were presented that afternoon.

Alumnus Kevin Wijaya, a graduate from NAFA’s Design & Media Programme also joined us at the tea session. He had an inspiring message for all the recipients. During his speech, he shared that, “As much as people think that scholarship is just a financial aid, I always think it’s more than that. It is a lesson on trust and responsibility. Getting a scholarship means that your talent and hard work has been recognised and awarded. It’s about spotting raw talent and giving it the right support to grow. And given the support, I have the responsibility to perform and not let people down – especially those who have trusted me with this scholarship.”

Congratulations once again to all recipients, and our deepest gratitude to all our donors.
