NAFA President receives Medal of Commendation

NAFA’s President Mr Chia Mia Chiang was awarded the Medal of Commendation at NTUC’s May Day Awards on 5 May 2018.  This award recognises his contributions towards good labour-management relations, workers’ welfare and NTUC’s initiatives.

Since his appointment in April 2014, Mr Chia has been an active partner of the Education Services Union. He spearheaded a series of progressive workplace programmes in NAFA, including the creation of a new salary structure, a structured career progression framework for both academic and non-academic staff, a competitive flexible benefit scheme and an enhanced leave benefit scheme for junior administrative staff.

Mr Chia is deeply committed to all aspects of staff welfare and productivity, promoting a healthy work-life balance and lifelong learning. He has launched several meaningful initiatives, including programmes recognising staff contributions and providing staff with upgrading and training opportunities.

Under Mr Chia’s leadership and direction, NAFA also adopted the Tripartite Standards on Recruitment Practices, Term Contract Employees, Flexible Work Arrangements, Grievance Handling and Age-Friendly Workplace Practices.
