Low Hai Hong

Born in 1941 in Indonesia, Low Hai Hong is an established artist and NAFA alumnus, who understudied pioneer artist Georgette Chen between 1961-1963. Low is well-known for his oil works that are technically sensitive and skilled.

Night at Pont Marie is an excellent example of rich tonal colours and variation that capture the timelessness and romance of the famed bridge, which crosses the Seine in Paris, France. The bridge can be viewed from the  Cité International des Arts, where Low spent five months as a resident artist at the NAFA-owned studios in Paris. His work reflects the spirit of learning, discovery and respect for tradition that is cornerstone to the artists of his generation, and for future generations to come.

This work was acquired by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2017.
