Hui May is currently Dean, Office of Academic Affairs at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Previously, she has taught at the Diploma and Degree levels at Fine Art Programmes as well as at the School of Art, Design and Media of the Nanyang Technological University.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Singapore as well as internationally, including exhibitions at the National Museum of Singapore, the Singapore Art Museum and Kyushu University. She was a nominee for the ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu Award in 2010 and has won numerous awards in photography, including first prize in the Photography category in the 2007 UOB Painting of the Year Award. She had also held a solo exhibition entitled “Domestic Dystopia” at Kay Ngee Tan Architects Gallery in 2007.

She is actively involved in the arts and photography industry in Singapore as a practitioner and educator. She has served as a judge at the Singapore Young Photographer Award in 2012 and 2014, was a mentor for Photovoice SG’s programme “Spectrum Through the Lens” in 2012, and has served as the film curator for the Singapore International Photography Festival in 2010.
