Alice Lau has been a lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts since 2007. She has taught ballet at the School of the Arts from 2008 to March 2014 and was also a teacher at the Singapore Ballet Academy from 2001 to 2008.

A former professional dancer, Alice performed with the Singapore Dance Theatre until 1998 and prior to that, she toured extensively with the Jeune Ballet de France in Paris. She appeared as a guest artist in “A Tribute to Margot Forteyn” in Portland, Oregon and performed at the opening of the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Alice’s accomplishments include finishing as a finalist in the Digital Genée Award Competition for two consecutive years and winning the Best Junior Couple in the IV USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi.

Equally as consummate as her ballet is her flair for playing the piano. Alice graduated with the ARCT Performance Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and was an accompanist at the Singapore Ballet Academy for two years before embarking on her teaching career.
