With the demonstration of provocative concepts and expressive narratives signature to her extensive body of work, Abbie Lim graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) majoring in Furniture Design in 2007. She received the Takashimaya - National Arts Council Scholarship in 2009, allowing her to further pursue her design education in Tokyo, Japan.

Abbie enjoys generating works of art, which enhance the aesthetic richness of our surroundings and add value to our daily life. Her furniture creations are intended—for the most part—to be functional yet deeply imbued with expressive content. Abbie's beliefs and design interest has helped her accumulate in-depth experience and expertise in hands-on modelling and handicraft projects, with an elevated level of creative acumen.

Abbie's passion and commitment to art and design have allowed her to channel her creativity and share her perspective of the world with people who matter to her. She focuses her creative process by simply looking at the world around her and responding to it. With a background in design and a sharp creative instinct, she aspires to combine her artistic skills and design knowledge to craft her creation.  Her designs always tell a story and exude originality. She aspires to create design that stimulates emotion and dialogue between the creator, the product and the user.

Abbie has received numerous accolades and recognitions, including the Merit award at the 3rd & 4th FLiP Challenge organised by Singapore Furniture Industries Council; Finalist at the 3rd CDL Singapore Sculpture Award organised by City Developments Limited; the Best Product Award for her first furniture collection Sponge at PLATFORM organised by International Furniture Fair Singapore in 2008.
