On the theme of engaging with a neurodiverse, multi-sensory world, the 7th edition of the UOB-NAFA Southeast Asian Arts Forum, titled Margins and Methods for Inclusive Worlds, will take place on 12 August 2026.
Organised by the Institute of Southeast Asian Arts (ISEAA), this year's edition of the Southeast Asian Arts Forum explores how artists use creative practice not only as a form of expression, but also as a method for inquiry, experimentation and understanding. Bringing together artists and designers whose practices are shaped by neurodiverse realities, the Forum examines through their works across sound, animation, interactive media and sensory-led installations how sensory processing, including modulation, can shape form, experience, and interpretation. These practices do not simply represent difference. They operationalise it, offering methods of access, translation, and care that are embedded in the making itself. Through the cumulative effort of these works, the Forum expands what we take as “normal” by widening the range of perspectives through which reality can be understood.
