Breaking away from the conventional, this year saw a unique collaboration between students from the NAFA School of 3D Design and the School of Architecture and Design at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, with a particular focus on wearables.
Uniforms hold global significance, worn across various countries and organisations, ranging from healthcare institutions and offices to police forces and educational institutions. These uniforms not only signify the responsibilities of the wearer but also serve as a representation of the organisation's identity, impacting the ambience and perceptions of those around them. In Thailand, school uniforms are donned by students from kindergarten through to university. However, the digital revolution and the pandemic have gradually reshaped educational practices. In addition to reflecting an organisation's identity, considerations must also encompass factors such as climate, local context, and the global situation, all of which influence user behavior.
When designing school uniforms, it is imperative for designers to delve into the real-world experiences and behaviors of their primary users—the students. This should be coupled with a keen awareness of emerging trends in education. This comprehensive approach aims to create uniforms that cater effectively to the learners' needs and aspirations.
