Certificate in Visual Merchandising (Experiential Spatial Design)

Introduction

Experiential design is an effective way to engage and intrigue today's audience. With the rising popularity of pop-up shops, events and product launches taking place in the offline environment, marketers and business owners will need to adopt more than just online strategies in brand building and visual merchandising. In this course, learners will better understand various strategies and insights in crafting unique experiential spatial designs. They will also explore and apply relevant software applications to create their designs.

Module 1 - Experiential Spatial Design Studio (8 sessions x 3 hours)

This module introduces basic design theory and 3D modelling to create concepts for aesthetically attractive spatial designs to create exciting consumer brands. Learners will create their designs from earlier studies and specifications. They will be able to explore various materials, lightings and textures in rendering a realistic and convincing spatial design proposal.

Module 2 - Visual Design Principles in Experiential Spatial Design (8 sessions x 3 hours)

This module equips learners with an understanding of creative and science-driven layout design behind retail spaces, pop-up stores and various points of sale. Learners will also gain insights into customers’ shopping behaviour and acquire the skills to optimise design principles of retail stores and service environments to increase customer satisfaction and sales. This module prepares learners for the next step towards creating a unique experiential spatial design.

Applicants must be 17 years old and above.

Prerequisites for registration

  • Applicants are required to have basic IT knowledge on digital imaging software

Subsidies

SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website (www.skillsfuture.sg/credit) to choose from the courses available on the Training Exchange course directory.

National Silver Academy
Applicable to Singaporean seniors aged 50 and above who will receive a subsidy of 50% off the course fee (capped at $500 per course). Please note that the subsidy will only apply to the course fee and will not cover GST.

Union Training Assistance Programme
Applicable to NTUC Union members who will enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year. Visit the NTUC website for more details.

Refund of Fees

Withdrawal within 14 days before the course commencement date Course fee^ will be refunded after deduction of S$107.00 as administrative charges.
Withdrawal on or after course commencement date
No refund will be given.
^Registration fees and miscellaneous fees are non-refundable.

Cancellation/ Postponement

  • NAFA reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course without prior notice.
    In the event that the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, NAFA will process a full refund of the course fees.

Withdrawal/ Deferment/ Transfer

  • Withdrawal or deferment requests should be made in writing with supporting relevant documents (if any) to Centre for Lifelong Education. Request for deferment is subject to approval.
  • No deferment is allowed once the course has commenced.
  • No transfer of course upon registration.

Replacement of Classes

  • There is strictly no replacement lesson should the participant absent himself/herself from the course.
