Introduction

This course introduces learners to the intricacies of studio photography. Upon completion of this course, learners will have a good understanding on the impact of artificial lighting on the look of a given image and they will be able to execute basic portrait shoots involving classic high key and low key lighting styles.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as learners familiar with product photography seeking to enhance their skills. Learners will be taught to take beautiful product pictures and master essential techniques in dealing with various types of object surfaces - reflective, transparent and textured etc.

Learners will be presented a Certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Module 1 - Studio Portrait Photography (8 sessions x 3 hours)

This module equips learners with the skills to handle and apply artificial lighting to create specific kinds of looks in portrait photography. Learners will acquire techniques in managing high key and low key lighting. The contents of this module will focus on studio-based portraiture photography. In addition, learners will have the opportunity to explore the finer points of different lighting styles during workshop sessions.

Module 2 - Studio Product Photography (8 sessions x 3 hours)

This module provides learners with a good understanding of the impact of artificial lighting on the look of a given image. Learners will be able to handle and apply artificial lighting to recreate specific types of looks on a product by using digital cameras. During practical sessions, learners will be taught the application of 2 point and 3 point lighting setups.

Applicants must be 17 years old and above.

  • Applicants are required to have basic IT knowledge

Subsidies

SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website (www.skillsfuture.sg/credit) to choose from the courses available on the Training Exchange course directory.

National Silver Academy
Applicable to Singaporean seniors aged 50 and above who will receive a subsidy of 50% off the course fee (capped at $500 per course). Please note that the subsidy will only apply to the course fee and will not cover GST.

Union Training Assistance Programme
NTUC members enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme). Terms and conditions apply.

Refund of Fees

Withdrawal within 14 days before the course commencement date Course fee^ will be refunded after deduction of S$107.00 as administrative charges.
Withdrawal on or after course commencement date
No refund will be given.
^Registration fees and miscellaneous fees are non-refundable.

Cancellation/ Postponement

  • NAFA reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course without prior notice.
    In the event that the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, NAFA will process a full refund of the course fees.

Withdrawal/ Deferment/ Transfer

  • Withdrawal or deferment requests should be made in writing with supporting relevant documents (if any) to Centre for Lifelong Education. Request for deferment is subject to approval.
  • No deferment is allowed once the course has commenced.
  • No transfer of course upon registration.

Replacement of Classes

  • There is strictly no replacement lesson should the participant absent himself/herself from the course.
