COURSE OVERVIEW

The NAFA Junior Art programme offers short-term art courses for children aged 5 to 16 years old during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling and printmaking to manga drawing.

Art and Craft Paradise (5 - 7 years old)
Students will explore and bring their creativity to life using different art media, including impasto acrylic painting and clay making techniques. This workshop is catered to younger children to explore a variety of both 2D and 3D media.

Van-Gogh-Inspired-Art
Van Gogh Inspired Art (5 - 7 years old)
Students will create artwork using acrylic paint and modelling clay. They will learn colour mixing, blending, and how to create texture using modelling clay. They will also create 3D artwork by combining these techniques. This workshop focuses on Vincent Van Gogh and students will be led through activities inspired by his masterpieces.

Magic-Paintbrush-Playground
Magic Paintbrush Playground (5 - 7 years old)
Students will bring their favourite tales to life through experimenting with watercolour and oil pastels. There will be different activities exploring various media and fun painting techniques every day.

ClayPlay-Pokemon
ClayPlay Pokemon (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create their very own collection of Pokémon in this fun-filled soft clay modelling workshop. This workshop is popular with children of all ages and Pokémon fans who wish to expand beyond a virtual adventure.

Huge Canvas Painting (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn about colour theory through artists’ works and create their own paintings on a large canvas with acrylic paints. This is the signature workshop where students bring home a large canvas worthy of display.

Inspired-by-Artists
Inspired by Artists (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create a glow-in-the-dark canvas painting, a printed tote bag, and mixed media art pieces inspired by famous artists. This workshop gives students the opportunity to create unique artwork that glows in the dark.

My-Family-and-I---Fun-with-Portraits
My Family and I – Fun with Portraits (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn how to illustrate facial expressions and create an expressive canvas painting of their own family, a self-portrait, and a decorative photo frame. This workshop introduces young artists to the fundamentals of portraiture in a fun and engaging manner.

Kawaii-Factory
Kawaii Factory (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn clay modelling techniques, painting and drawing skills to produce artworks of cute Japanese characters and bring home their individualised Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi creations. This workshop is an all-time favourite among Sanrio fans.

Fun 3D Art (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn to transform their 2D ideas into 3D art pieces by constructing and modelling with assorted materials to form playable art, soft plushies and mobiles. This workshop enables students to push the boundaries of their imagination and creativity beyond two dimensions.

Starry-Night-Glass-Bottle-Painting
Starry Night Glass Bottle Painting (9 - 12 years old)
Students will recreate their personalised Starry Night and Sunflower masterpieces on a glass water bottle. They will also complete a canvas painting using Van Gogh’s Post-Impressionistic techniques. This workshop also allows students to create a self-portrait or illustrate a character of their choice with oil pastels using the style and techniques they have learnt.

Superhero-Art-Lab-Paint-&-Sculpt
Superhero Art Lab: Paint & Sculpt (9 - 12 years old)
Students will create two artworks in this workshop: a canvas painting and a clay sculpture. They will paint their chosen Marvel character, superhero, or robot on a canvas panel and learn basic colour mixing. This workshop enables students to explore simple 3D modelling techniques with clay to sculpt their selected characters.

Fun with Graphite, Charcoal & Panpastel (11 - 16 years old)
Students will explore expressive dry media techniques. They will learn to create textures, light and shadow, and atmospheric effects using graphite, charcoal, soft pastel, and PanPastel. Fun subjects include landscapes, animals, toys, magical themes, and food drawing, with simple collage elements to spark creativity. This workshop caters to students who wish to learn new techniques and experiment with an array of drawing media.

The-Clay-Things-All-About-Transport
The Clay Things: All About Transport (5 - 7 years old)
Students will explore the world of transport through four fun, hands-on art activities. The workshop includes drawing, painting, and 2D plasticine relief activities. They will design their own toy car packaging, a soft pillow plushie project featuring simple printmaking and marker illustration. This workshop helps younger children expand their imagination and creativity through the exciting theme of transport.

Let's-go-to-Outer-Space
Let’s Go to Outer Space (5 - 7 years old)
Students will create a variety of artworks based on a space theme. They will explore a variety of mixed media to create rockets, planets, and other artwork inspired by this theme. This workshop caters to younger children who enjoy 3D work.

Monster Attack (7 - 10 years old)
Students will be guided in painting their favourite monsters on canvas and printing their designs on a tote bag. They will use felt, yarn and other interesting materials to create their monster wand and plushie. This workshop brings together the best of 2D and 3D together for imaginative children.

Fun with Mosaic Art (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn to create their own expressive mosaic artwork and ornaments with colourful mosaic tiles and various materials. This workshop allows students to create decorative pieces while exploring techniques beyond traditional 3D media.

Refund of Fees

Fees are only refundable under the following conditions:

  1. Full refund if the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances.
  2. If withdrawal is made within 14 days before the commencement of the programme, an administrative charge of S$50 (before prevailing GST) will be deducted.
  3. Fees are non-refundable for withdrawal after the class commence*

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

These are short Art courses for children 5 to 16 years old. No prior art knowledge is required.

HOW TO APPLY

There are two enrolments per year:

  • In May, for the intake at the end of May/June.
  • In October, for the intake at the end of November/December.
All applicants will register online. Do note that registering online does not guarantee a place, as most of the courses are usually over-subscribed.

Successful applicants will be notified via email. Upon receiving the results of your successful application, please proceed to make prompt payment to secure the class allocated; otherwise, the seat will be automatically released.

You will be prompted to complete the payment process via email.

Enrolment Steps
  1. Enrol online in May 2026
  2. Please click here to apply during the registration period.
  3. Fill in details as required.
  4. You will receive an email acknowledgement upon application submission.
  5. Payment notification will be sent to the registered email within 24 hours.
  6. Make a full payment at our payment portal upon receipt of the payment notification to confirm enrolment.
  7. Registration will close for a course that is fully subscribed.

FAQ

Twice a year, in May and October.
Register in May for courses commencing in May/June.

All applicants will register online. Registering online does not guarantee a place as most of the art courses are usually oversubscribed. Successful applicants will be notified via email and SMS on fee payment and class allocation. Please note that the successful application is only secured with fee payment (you will be prompted to complete the required payment within 48 hrs).

7 – 14 students

A teaching assistant is assigned to all classes for children less than 9 years old.

Parents need to inform us about their child’s learning needs upon registration. Children with learning needs will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Our classes are held in a large group setting; hence we are unable to accommodate or admit children who require one-to-one supervision during lessons.

The NAFA Junior Art offer short-term art courses for students 5 to 16 years old during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling and printmaking to manga drawing.

Our classes are held at NAFA Campus 1, 80 Bencoolen Street.

Please bring an apron, a light jacket and a water bottle. Course fee for vacation courses is inclusive of all art materials.

There is no replacement class for a lesson missed.

The student will be awarded with the Certificate of Participation at the last day of lesson.
