COURSE OVERVIEW

The NAFA Junior Art programme offers short-term art courses for children aged 5 to 16 years old during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling and printmaking to manga drawing.

Students will learn clay modelling to create cute Christmas characters. They will get to bring home their own personalised Christmas Clay Wreath, Canvas Painting, and a Christmas Plushie.

Students will learn about colour theory through artists’ artwork and create their own paintings on huge canvas boards with acrylic paints.

Students will create a glow-in-the-dark canvas painting, a printed tote bag and mixed media art pieces inspired by famous artists.

Students will learn clay modelling, canvas painting and drawing skills to produce artworks of cute Japanese characters and bring home their Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi creations.

Inspired by Dot-tastic Artists (7 - 10 years old)
Students will explore dots, spots, and patterns to create colourful 2D and 3D artworks. Inspired by famous artists, this hands-on session sparks creativity and imagination!

Pokémon Factory (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn clay modelling, canvas painting and drawing skills to produce artworks of cute Pokémon characters and bring home their art creations.

Long batik painting (9 - 12 years old)
Students will create a 1-metre-long batik painting while exploring various tools and techniques. Through appreciating artists’ artworks, they will observe, sketch, and paint on fabric to create their original batik art.

Starry Night Glass Bottle Painting (9 - 12 years old)
Students will learn their own whimsical Starry Night and Sunflowers masterpiece on a glass water bottle and canvas using Van Gogh’s post- impressionist technique. Students will also create a 3D self-portrait or illustrate any character of their choice with the style and techniques learnt.

Fun 3D Art (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn to transform their 2D ideas into 3D art pieces by constructing and modelling with assorted materials to form playable art, soft plushies and mobiles.

Little Acrylic Painter (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn basic acrylic painting skills and elements of the arts inspired by famous artists and their artworks. Be a little acrylic painter and create your own masterpiece.

Students will learn clay modelling, canvas painting and drawing skills to produce artworks of POP Mart characters and bring home their art creations.

My Family and I – Fun with Portraits (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn how to illustrate facial expressions and create an expressive canvas painting of their own family, a self-portrait and a decorative photo frame for a family photo.

Story Telling through Art and Plushie (9 - 12 years old)
Students will learn the basic stitches, design and sew a plushie character, symbolic mini plushie items, and a personalized fabric bag to carry their own designs. Through painting, stitching, and storytelling, they will explore identity and imagination in tactile, expressive ways.

Creative Drawing with Soft Pastel and Charcoal (11 - 16 years old)
Students will explore both realism and imagination through mixed media, soft pastels, and charcoal. Students will learn to capture light and form with accuracy while experimenting creatively to produce expressive, original works.

Light and Shadow through Charcoal (11 - 16 years old)
Students will experience working with willow, compressed charcoal, and charcoal pencils to create bold contrasts and meticulous details. They will explore blending and shading on white and toned paper, drawing papers, landscapes, and still life while mastering the play of light and shadow.

A Cubist Christmas with Picasso (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create fun 2D and 3D artworks inspired by Picasso using canvas, boxes, and mixed materials. A hands-on holiday workshop full of colours, shape and creativity!
8 – 12 December 9am – 12pm
ClayPlay Pokemon (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create their very own collection of Pokémon in this fun-filled soft clay modelling workshop.

Santa and Animal Parade (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create adorable Christmas animal designs using glow-in-the-dark paint on a canvas, clay modelling and mixed materials. Enjoy a playful holiday adventure through 2D and 3D art.

ClayPlay Christmas Wonderland (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn soft clay modelling to produce Christmas-themed artworks and decorative items to complete the festive cheer.

Van Gogh Inspired Art (5 - 7 years old)
Students will create artworks inspired by Vincent Van Gogh using mainly acrylic paint and modelling clay. They will learn colour mixing, blending, and how to create texture using modelling clay. They will also create 3D artwork, combining the techniques.
15 – 19 December 1pm – 4pm
Christmas Mosaic Art (7 - 10 years old)
Students will love this fun-filled Christmas workshop where they will learn to create their expressive mosaic art pieces and ornaments with mosaic tiles, LEGO bricks and various materials.
15 – 19 December 9am – 12pm
Winter Wonders in 3D (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create snow creatures, plushies, and magical winter scenes, which are perfect for the holiday season.
15 – 19 December 1pm – 4pm
Sensory Play and Experimental Arts (9 - 12 years old)
Students will create fun artwork through acrylic pouring, squishy gel wax casting, slime craft and more. They will bring home fun and original decorative pieces at the end of the workshop.

Christmas Scrapbooking and Paper Craft (9 - 12 years old)
Students will learn to make a Christmas scrapbook, a photo page, a greeting card, gift ideas and a gift box for the festive season.

Refund of Fees

Fees are only refundable under the following conditions:

  1. Full refund if the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances.
  2. If withdrawal is made within 14 days before the commencement of the programme, an administrative charge of S$50 (before prevailing GST) will be deducted.
  3. Fees are non-refundable for withdrawal after the class commence*

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

These are short Art courses for children 5 to 16 years old. No prior art knowledge is required.

HOW TO APPLY

There are two enrolments per year:

  • In May, for the intake at the end of May/June.
  • In October, for the intake at the end of November/December.
All applicants will register online. Do note that registering online does not guarantee a place, as most of the courses are usually over-subscribed.

Successful applicants will be notified via email. Upon receiving the results of your successful application, please proceed to make prompt payment to secure the class allocated; otherwise, the seat will be automatically released.

You will be prompted to complete the payment process via email.

Enrolment Steps
  1. Enrol online in October 2025.
  2. Please click here to apply during the registration period.
  3. Fill in details as required.
  4. You will receive an email acknowledgement upon application submission.
  5. Payment notification will be sent to the registered email within 24 hours.
  6. Make a full payment at our payment portal upon receipt of the payment notification to confirm enrolment.
  7. Registration will close for a course that is fully subscribed.

FAQ

Twice a year, in May and October.
Register in May for courses commencing in May/June.
Register in October for courses commencing in November/December.

All applicants will register online. Registering online does not guarantee a place as most of the art courses are usually oversubscribed. Successful applicants will be notified via email and SMS on fee payment and class allocation. Please note that the successful application is only secured with fee payment (you will be prompted to complete the required payment within 48 hrs).

7 – 14 students

A teaching assistant is assigned to all classes for children less than 9 years old.

Parents need to inform us about their child’s learning needs upon registration. Children with learning needs will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Our classes are held in a large group setting; hence we are unable to accommodate or admit children who require one-to-one supervision during lessons.

The NAFA Junior Art offer short-term art courses for students 5 to 16 years old during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling and printmaking to manga drawing.

Our classes are held at NAFA Campus 1, 80 Bencoolen Street.

Please bring an apron, a light jacket and a water bottle. Course fee for vacation courses is inclusive of all art materials.

There is no replacement class for a lesson missed.

The student will be awarded with the Certificate of Participation at the last day of lesson.
