COURSE OVERVIEW

The NAFA Junior Art programme offers short-term art courses for children aged 5 to 16 years old during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling and printmaking to manga drawing.

Students will learn about colour theory through artists’ works and create their own painting on a large canvas with acrylic paints. This is our signature workshop where students bring home a large canvas worthy of display.

Clay-Play Pokemon (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create their very own collection of Pokémon in this fun-filled soft clay modelling workshop. This workshop is popular with children of all ages and Pokémon fans who wish to explore beyond a virtual adventure!

Kawaii Factory (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn clay modelling techniques, painting and drawing skills to produce artworks of cute Japanese characters. This workshop is an all-time favourite for Sanrio fans to bring home their individualised Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi creations.

Students will create a glow-in-the-dark canvas painting, a printed tote bag, and mixed-media artworks inspired by renowned artists. Through this hands-on workshop, students will explore different artistic styles and techniques while creating unique artworks that come alive and glow in the dark!

A Cubist Christmas with Picasso (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create fun 2D and 3D artworks inspired by Picasso using canvas, boxes and mixed materials. This hands-on holiday workshop is packed with colour, shapes, and creativity, while introducing students to art appreciation and encouraging them to express their own unique artistic ideas.

Animal Art Adventures
Animal Art Adventures (9 - 12 years old)
Students will choose their favourite animal and bring it to life through two exciting artworks. They will create a circular canvas acrylic painting and a colourful 2D clay relief artwork while exploring colour mixing, texture painting, layering and raised forms. Each child will bring home two unique animal masterpieces filled with their own creativity and style.

Starry Night Bottle - Fang Jasmine
Starry Night Glass Bottle Painting (9 - 12 years old)
Students will recreate their personalised Starry Night and Sunflower masterpieces inspired by Van Gogh, on a glass water bottle. They will also complete a canvas painting using Van Gogh’s Post-Impressionistic techniques. This workshop also allows students to create a self-portrait or illustrate a character of their choice with oil pastels using the style and techniques they have learnt.

Van Gogh Inspired Art
Van Gogh Inspired Art (5 - 7 years old)
Students will create artwork using acrylic paint and modelling clay. They will learn colour mixing, blending, and how to create textures using modelling clay. They will also create 3D artworks by combining these techniques. Students will be led through activities inspired by Van Gogh’s masterpieces.

Secret Garden Explorers - Fang Jasmine
Secret Garden Explorer (5 - 7 years old)
Students will explore their creativity through a playful, process-based workshop in which they imagine, design and create a vibrant secret-garden painting on canvas and a hanging 3D clay mobile windchime. Through sensory exploration, colour mixing, simple mark-making, and basic construction, students will develop fine motor skills, creativity, early design thinking and confidence in self-expression.

Students will learn to transform their 2D ideas into 3D art pieces by constructing and modelling with assorted materials to form playable art, soft plushies and mobiles. This workshop enables students to push the boundaries of their imagination and creativity beyond making art in 2D form.

Students will learn clay modelling skills and create a delicious-looking collection of clay food art, from colourful cookies and pastries to mouth-watering burgers and sushi. This workshop allows students to create an array of their favourite food for permanent display.

Pokémon Factory (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn clay modelling, canvas painting and drawing skills to produce artworks of cute Pokémon characters and bring home their creations. This workshop combines 2D and 3D activities for Pokémon fans.

Let’s Go to Outer Space (5 - 7 years old)
Students will create a variety of artworks based on a space theme. They will explore a variety of mixed media to create rockets, planets and other artworks inspired by this theme. This workshop caters to younger children who enjoy 3D work.

Magic Paintbrush Playground (5 - 7 years old)
Students will bring their favourite tales to life through experimenting with watercolour and oil pastels. There will be different activities exploring various media and fun painting techniques every day through stories children are familiar with.

A walk in the garden
A Walk in The Garden (5 - 7 years old)
Students will explore the wonderful theme of the garden and bring their creative ideas to life through colourful flowers and little garden friends, such as insects and animals. This workshop is specially designed for younger children to express their creativity while exploring both 2D and 3D art media.

Creative Builder (6 - 8 years old)
Students will explore the colourful and imaginative world of artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. They will learn about his use of bright colours, curved lines, spirals, patterns and nature-inspired shapes. Students will then create a painting and sculpture inspired by Hundertwasser, using everyday materials to express their own creativity and imagination.

Sensory Play and Experimental Art (9 - 12 years old)
Students will create fun artwork through acrylic pouring, squishy gel wax casting, slime craft and more. At the end of the workshop, they will take home their own original and decorative pieces—a fun-filled experience packed with creativity, discovery and hands-on learning.

Fun Needle Felting (9 - 12 years old)
Students will learn the needle felting technique to make their own cute woolly felt plushie.Designed especially for older students, this hands-on workshop offers the perfect opportunity to learn a new technique, get creative, and bring their own unique felt creations to life.

Artful Dessert
Artful Dessert (6 - 8 years old)
Students will explore the colourful and delightful artworks of Wayne Thiebaud. Inspired by his unique style, they will learn to paint and sculpt a dessert while paying attention to its shape, details and textures. To top it off, students will add decorative elements to bring their delicious-looking artworks to life!

Santa and Animal Parade (7 - 10 years old)
Students will create adorable Christmas animal designs using glow-in-the-dark paint on a canvas, clay modelling and mixed materials. Through this playful holiday adventure, they will explore both 2D and 3D art while creating festive artworks filled with colour, creativity and Christmas cheer.

Little Acrylic Painter (7 - 10 years old)
Students will learn basic acrylic painting skills and elements of the arts inspired by famous artists and their artworks. Be a little acrylic painter and create your own masterpiece through painting skills and art appreciation!

Christmas Mosaic Art (7 - 10 years old)
Students will love this fun-filled Christmas workshop, where they will create expressive mosaic art pieces and festive ornaments using mosaic tiles, LEGO bricks and a variety of other materials.

Christmas Scrapbooking and Paper Craft (9 - 12 years old)
Students will get into the festive spirit as they create their own Christmas scrapbook, photo page, greeting card, gift ideas and gift box. Packed with hands-on creativity, this workshop gives students the opportunity to craft personalised keepsakes and thoughtful gifts, making their Christmas celebrations even more memorable!

Little Cafe Artists - Watercolour Food Adventure (11 - 16 years old)
Students will embark on a fun 2-day art camp exploring the colourful world of café food through watercolour. They will learn watercolour techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, line and wash, and colour mixing alongside other approaches to painting food. Students will paint a variety of café favorites including drinks, desserts and main courses. At the end of the camp, they will bring home a feast of artworks that is every bit as delicious to look at!

Dive into the sea world!
Dive Into The Sea! (7 - 10 years old)
Students will get to create their favourite sea creatures using different art media such as drawing, painting, printmaking and clay making. This workshop encourages students to expand their imagination of the underwater world and experiment with a variety of 2D and 3D media to create their own unique underwater artworks.

Designed for older students, this hands-on workshop offers an exciting opportunity to explore new techniques, experiment with textures and patterns, and create unique pieces beyond traditional 3D media.

Refund of Fees

Fees are only refundable under the following conditions:

  1. Full refund if the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances.
  2. If withdrawal is made within 14 days before the commencement of the programme, an administrative charge of S$50 (before prevailing GST) will be deducted.
  3. Fees are non-refundable for withdrawal after the class commence*

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

These are short Art courses for children 5 to 16 years old. No prior art knowledge is required.

HOW TO APPLY

There are two enrolments per year:

  • In May, for the intake at the end of May/June.
  • In October, for the intake at the end of November/December.
All applicants will register online. Do note that registering online does not guarantee a place, as most of the courses are usually over-subscribed.

Successful applicants will be notified via email. Upon receiving the results of your successful application, please proceed to make prompt payment to secure the class allocated; otherwise, the seat will be automatically released.

You will be prompted to complete the payment process via email.

Enrolment Steps

  4. You will receive an email acknowledgement upon application submission.
  5. Payment notification will be sent to the registered email within 24 hours.

All applicants will register online. Registering online does not guarantee a place as most of the art courses are usually oversubscribed. Successful applicants will be notified via email and SMS on fee payment and class allocation. Please note that the successful application is only secured with fee payment (you will be prompted to complete the required payment within 48 hrs).

7 – 14 students

A teaching assistant is assigned to all classes for children less than 9 years old.

Parents need to inform us about their child’s learning needs upon registration. Children with learning needs will be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis. Our classes are held in a large group setting; hence we are unable to accommodate or admit children who require one-to-one supervision during lessons.

The NAFA Junior Art offer short-term art courses for students 5 to 16 years old during the June and December school holidays. We offer fun and enriching courses that range from craft-making, canvas painting, clay modelling and printmaking to manga drawing.

Our classes are held at NAFA Campus 1, 80 Bencoolen Street.

Please bring an apron, a light jacket and a water bottle. Course fee for vacation courses is inclusive of all art materials.

There is no replacement class for a lesson missed.

The student will be awarded with the Certificate of Participation at the last day of lesson.
