Kar Han furthered his studies and graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Industrial Design) from National University of Singapore in 2012.
“I learned not about the climax but about the process”
Kar Han has covered various design disciplines over 15 years of his design journey, ranging from master urban planning to architecture and landscape as well as exhibition and interior design to industrial design.
After graduation, he was head hunted to work for Surbana International Consultants in master urban planning projects. In 2009, he entered NUS industrial design to further his knowledge towards designing products. After graduating in 2012, he was invited to work at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in Office of Education Department as Assistant Manager for the Fabrication Laboratory, managing the high profile Digital 3D printing technology at that time. In 2013, having his diverse design background and experience in managing digital technology, he transferred to Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD) department as Assistant Manager and involve as Teaching Assistant for the Digital Design and Fabrication course.
Kar Han started his own design company, STUDIO KAKI in 2015 to further explore his creative side and continue his passion in multi-disciplinary design.
Kar Han was awarded NAFA President Award and the Best Graduate of the Diploma in Environment Design programme in 2007. In 2010, he was awarded 1st runner-up in the Gifts & Premiums category for the Modern and Happy Office Design Competition. In 2011, he was awarded NUS Innovation/Entrepreneurship Practicum Grant Award for VertOnics - Vertical Greenery System.
