Wee Hwee graduated with a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from the Glasgow School of Art, UK, in 2009. Her works received Honourable Mention in the Singapore Philip Morris Arts Award in 2005, and she is also a recipient of the NAFA President Award in 2006 and the National Arts Council Arts Bursary (Overseas) in 2007.

Wee Hwee’s practice enquires the idea of “becoming” through a work-intensive operation on displacement and transgression. The qualities and functions of the mass-produced materials used in our everyday lives are examined, exploited and challenged during the process of her exploration in order to transform them into objects, sculptures and installations overlaid with contradictions and ambiguity.

Her works have appeared in group shows in the UK and Singapore, such as "Set It Up and Go", APS Artnews Projects + Twinspace in Germany, "Scapes and Sense" Esplanade and "CHAIRITY2012" Red Dots Design Museum in Singapore.

Apart from teaching young adults, Wee Hwee has also conducted workshops for young children over the years. In the recent exhibition for "Coming Home", she has collaborated with over 50 primary school children to create an installation for the Passion Arts Festival 2014.
