A veteran magazine journalist, Tom has over 30 years of experience in media and communications. He was Associate Fashion Editor with Her World magazine in the 1980s and Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire magazine (Singapore & Malaysia editions) in the 1990s. Since leaving his full-time job in journalism, he divides his time between teaching communication skills, conducting image and grooming workshops, spa training, copywriting and consulting for various lifestyle brands. He has been a part-time lecturer with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts since 2006. His philosophy of fashion is: Fashion is not fine arts. It is about clever marketing with good advertising and great promotions. Designers create fashion, but consumers turn fashion into style.
