Ruzaini is an actor and educator. He has performed in Four Horse Road 2020 (The Theatre Practice), the SG Bicentennial Experience @Fort Canning, Tango (Pangdemonium Productions), Let’s Get Back Together (Red Pill Productions) and numerous community and assembly programme performances. On-screen, he has acted in Paddles Up, The Break-up List and Hope.
Ruzaini has taught collaborative theatre-making workshops at primary schools, colleges and universities. He was also the drama club instructor for Marsiling Secondary School and Millennia Institute where he coached students in writing and devising for the Singapore Youth Festival and in-house performances. He has taught poetry and story theatre in primary schools, using Viewpoints and Michael Chekhov techniques. He was also invited by LASALLE College of the Arts and Kent Ridge Hall (National University of Singapore) to coach improvisation and devising techniques.
Ruzaini’s core interest lies in voice coaching. He draws mostly from the principles of the Alexander Technique, the Feldenkrais Method and the pedagogies of Cecily Berry and Jeanette Nelson.
