Biography

Keith is Founder and Principal Consultant of his own enterprise, Creative Nexus Group, a multi-disciplinary education and training consultancy that supports and promotes the development of the creative industries.

Keith undertakes curriculum development assignments, gives guest lectures at institutes of higher learning, and conducts corporate training and professional development programmes in the areas of design studies, creativity and design management. Keith also works collaboratively with the National University of Singapore Extension to develop and deliver professional development courses on creativity, design thinking and innovation.

His industry experience includes residential, retail and hospitality design consulting, which ranges from interior architecture and design to brand identity development, packaging design and logo design. He was Graphics Producer at the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (former MediaCorp), where he led a graphics design team in the production of television graphics for English, Chinese and Malay current affairs programmes, which include Friday Background, Contact--‐Y, Tuesday Report, Today In Parliament, Select Committee Hearing, Focus 30, Tinjiauan, as well as special documentaries and feature programmes.

Keith completed a two-year Master’s Degree in research on design process and creativity at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He has worked collaboratively with UNSW to develop and teach professional development courses in Design Management and Art & Design Education, as well as the UNSW Master of Design programme in Singapore, leading to the establishment of the Centre for Design Innovation in Temasek Polytechnic as the professional development and consulting office of Temasek Design School.

Keith has an illustrious career as a consultant and educator of design. His strength is in designing holistic design education by cutting across the disciplines of architectural design consultancy, design management, project management, design marketing and broadcasting media design. In his 15 years with Temasek Polytechnic, Keith had undertaken design consultancy projects and teaching assignments at Kingston University (UK), Rhode Island School of Design (US), UNSW, Central Academy of Fine Arts (China) and Polytechnic Ungku Omar (Malaysia). He had also been an adjunct lecturer for the Lincoln University (NZ)’s Bachelor of Landscape Architecture course in Singapore.

With his experience in management and as a Senior Lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic overseeing academic quality assurance and cross-disciplinary integration of the design curricula, Keith joined Raffles Education Corporation as the Director and Dean of Design in 2006. He extended his contacts with creative professionals in the industry and contributed to the Ministry of Manpower’s Workforce Development Agency (WDA) as a member of the 4 Creative Industry Workforce Skills Qualification Workgroup to assess industry capability and manpower development needs in the creative industries.
