Kartik Alan Jairamin holds both a Master of Music in Performance and Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Royal College of Music (RCM), London. His education was generously supported by the National Arts Council Singapore, Lee Foundation, and Trailblazer Foundation. While studying at the RCM, Kartik was the recipient of the Michael Quinn Award.
Kartik is no stranger to the stage, having done numerous recitals in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, France and London, presenting repertoire for the Horn in various solo and chamber combinations. He is one of the founding members of the wind quintet EDQ who were the finalist and winner of the Composers’ Prize at the prestigious 7th International Henri Tomasi Wind Quintet competition held in Marseilles, France.
A strong advocate for chamber music, Kartik is the founding member of Singapore Horn Sounds and Duo Continuum. Apart from solo and chamber recitals, Kartik has participated in orchestra festivals held in Germany, Austria and Scotland, and was notably selected as Young Artist with the Britten-Pears Orchestra in 2015, an orchestra run by the Aldeburgh Festival, England.
