Winner of the 1st Prize at the 2008 Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Competition, Singaporean classical guitarist Hunter Mah has performed on stages across Asia, the U.S.A., and Europe.

As a young boy, Hunter was a multiple prize-winner in the Philippines’ annual National Music Competition for Young Artists. He gave a debut solo recital at the Cultural Centre of the Philippines at the age of 12, and by 14 was already a seasoned public performer, making numerous appearances on stage, radio, and television.

Hunter received technical grounding from Singapore-based American guitarist-composer Robert Luse, and studied harmony with composer and Singapore Cultural Medallion recipient Phoon Yew Tien, before attending leading conservatories in the U.S.A. and the Netherlands.

Hunter completed undergraduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and attained the post-graduate Professional Studies Diploma where his primary mentors were the acclaimed composer, improviser, and theorist Dusan Bogdanovic, and renowned performer and educator David Tanenbaum.

Completing his formal studies with a Masters degree cum laude from Conservatorium Maastricht (Netherlands) under the guidance of preeminent guitarist Carlo Marchione, Hunter received the highest grade awarded in his year.
