Mickey has a wealth of art directorial experience in the design and advertising industry, having worked as Art Director at OUA Advertising (Singapore), Bridgepoint Marketing Pte Ltd, and Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt (Singapore).
Since 1993, he has dedicated himself to design education and has been lecturing at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts for more than 20 years.
Well-versed in the execution of a broad spectrum of ad campaigns, Mickey has worked on accounts for Mercedes Benz, Xerox, Bristol-Myers, Metro, Wrangler, as well as government-funded campaigns. He is a team player who is familiar with the work processes of business pitches for new accounts, and has led and managed teams from conception to final production in design projects.
Mickey's teaching philosophy is to engage students in the practice of reflection and to have students adopt a 'Thinking behind the Thinking' approach in their learning experience. In essence, by advocating a more cognitive approach, there will be a maturing process that encourages the growth of a thinking designer.
