Industry experience

Ezekiel is originally from Portugal where he studied new circus and contemporary dance. He graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2007 and has since performed extensively in the U.K and Europe, incluging works by Tamzin Fitzgerald, Hofesh Schechter, Stephan Koplowitz, Henrique Cabrera, Helene Blackburn, Libby Seward and Alaine Handa.

With Balbir Singh Dance Company he created ‘Decreasing Infinity’ and ‘Synchronized’ - Cultural Olympiad 2012. He was guest dance artist for ‘DisGo’ in 2010 and in 2011 Ezekiel created ‘Blake Diptych’, ‘Innocence and Experience’ in collaboration with Fleur Darkin Company.

In 2014 Ezekiel brought together his skills, knowledge and new collaborators under one roof in Singapore by founding Fivelines. Since establishing FiveLines - a contemporary dance initiative, Ezekiel Oliveira has had the pleasure of working and collaborating with an eclectic group of artists in Singapore.

Ezekiel teaches contemporary dance in a wide range of settings, professional classes/training, universities, colleges and dance festivals. He has been teaching and lecturing in contact improvisation, floor work technique, choreography and repertoire for the last 5 years.

He has been a part-time lecturer at NAFA since 2014, and teaches regular company class to both Frontier Danceland and T.H.E Dance Company (and T.H.E Second Company). He is also a dance consultant for Creat:CATT as well as a mentor for MOVE with Maya Dance Theatre.

In 2015 Ezekiel created and presented Skin- A Choreographic Response for Singapore Art Museum and is now in the rehearsal process for Casa, a brand new dance production for CityLights commissioned by Maya Dance Theatre.
