Nimisha has a breadth of industry experience, from being a private banker to running her online gallery and curating art exhibitions. This combination of corporate, entrepreneurial, and curatorial experience enables her to bring a dimension of reality to the arts marketing classes she conducts.

Nimisha's doctoral thesis focused on organisational factors that can facilitate collective social entrepreneurship.

She has co-authored, Anthology of Significant Events in Indian Art & Socio-Cultural History 1850-2015. Her upcoming book is a definitional dictionary of standard global art terms. The book is being translated into 22 Indian languages by the Government of India's Higher Education Department. She has received a fellowship from the Government of India for research on the role of public art institutions in promoting art.

Nimisha served on the board of MINDS (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore, 2020-2021) and is currently on its advisory committee. She is also a docent at the Singapore art museum.
