Dr. Zeitner’s professional experiences include being a dance performer, rehearsal director, as well as dance educator and academic. He began his performance career at Ballet Dresden before joining the Thoss Tanz Kompanie at the Kiel Opera House and Staatsoper Hannover in Germany. During those years, he had the opportunity to perform throughout Europe and work with diverse choreographers, including Stephan Thoss, Glen Tetley, Uwe Scholz and John Neumeier.

Prior to joining Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2017, Dr. Zeitner lectured dance techniques and choreography at The University of Auckland, and was Subject Head - Dance at School of the Arts Singapore. He was also Board Member of the New Zealand Dance Festival Trust and served as Advisory Panel Member for the New Zealand School of Dance.

Dr. Zeitner’s research focuses on arts-based learning methods in leadership education and developing creative dexterity in the education of professional dancers, as well as the development of curricula structures and course designs in dance education. He has presented his research at international conferences, such as the International Studying Leadership Conference, and the Art of Management and Organization Conference in Great Britain and Slovenia. His research was published in the Research in Dance Education Journal and Organizational Aesthetics. Dr. Zeitner is an external assessor for the National Arts Council of Singapore and member of the UNESCO International Dance Council.
