Debra has over 30 years of extensive experience in merchandising and design in the fashion industry, working for Jagger, Baccarat and Chanel Australia. In her academic career, Debra has taught History and Research of Fashion at Temasek Polytechnic before joining the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Debra has also worked with the former Singapore Broadcasting Corporation as a costume designer and coordinator of sponsorships, and has designed costumes for ballets and National Day Parades. She has also represented Singapore at the Annual Pret-a-Porter in Paris in 1986.
