Shiying is an everyday-tool maker who found interest in the construction of clothing and objects since the age of 5. She has a keen eye for details and is often thinking of ingenious and simple ways to create tools that can make everyday living a little merrier.
Winner of the Most Creative Award at NAFA Graduation Fashion Show 2013, Shiying was later selected as a finalist for the iD Emerging Designer Awards 2014, which was held in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Upon graduation, she gained experience under the wing of local brands and companies, including SATURDAY, Little Man, and Surrealist Love Scene, where her skills for designing, drafting, buying, merchandising, and public relations were greatly honed.
She served an apprenticeship under master craftsman, Yamochi Masumi, in Kyoto, Japan, for a year and is now running Senkoubou, a brand that produces handmade bags and accessories.
