Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), University of the Arts Singapore (UAS), presents First Light of Fantasias, featuring the Singapore premiere of Three Fantasias by renowned Australian composer Carl Vine, celebrating the limitless imagination of the fantasia form.

Award-winning pianist Dr Poom Prommachart, Steinway Artist and Head of Junior Music at NAFA’s School of Young Talents (SYT), will be joined by guest artists Marianne Huang Yueyin (piano) and Chen Shanhui Indra (guzheng), on Sunday, 7 December 2025, 3:00 pm, at the Lee Foundation Theatre, NAFA Campus 3.

Tracing the evolution of the fantasia from its European classical roots to contemporary interpretations, First Light of Fantasias embraces the vibrant musical colours of the East. The 75-minute concert unfolds in two interconnected halves, offering audiences both familiarity and discovery, with Carl Vine’s Three Fantasias as its centrepiece.

Dr Poom Prommachart is renowned for his lyrical passion, artistry, and commanding stage presence, qualities that have earned him top international accolades and acclaim on concert stages around the world. Among his many accolades are the 2025 BOH Cameronian Arts Award for Best Solo Performance and the prestigious 2014 Tagore Gold Medal.
