Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) collaborated with Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC) on the GiraffeSG@Central campaign, a public art initiative featuring six functional giraffe sculpture benches installed across prominent locations in Singapore. Created by NAFA alumni and artists in partnership with Central Singapore CDC, the works explore themes of care, inclusion and collective responsibility, encouraging the public to play an active role in strengthening community bonds.
Launched at NAFA, the campaign underscores the role of arts education in shaping socially engaged creative practice. By extending artistic expression into public spaces, the initiative demonstrates how NAFA artists and alumni contribute meaningfully to civic life, translating humanistic values into accessible, community-oriented artworks.
