Digital Media Design (Certificate)*

Introduction

The courses are designed for students to acquire fundamental skills to integrate creativity in Digital Media Design. These courses will serve as a good foundation for the thriving industry. Students are trained in digital imaging, video design and interactive design.

Digital Media Design 1 - Graphic and Digital Imaging (10 sessions x 3 hours)

In this course, students will be learning both basic design theory and software applications – Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, to equip them with competent digital imaging and illustrating knowledge and skills.

Digital Media Design 2 - Video Media Design (10 sessions x 3 hours)

Students will be learning to design with the media technology in video format. They will be able to create meaningful imagery from the process of conceptualization to implementation of video design through video editing software, Adobe Premiere.

Digital Media Design 3 - Interactive Media Design (10 sessions x 3 hours)

In this course, students will be learning how to apply basic design theory to create interactive media projects using software Adobe Dreamweaver. There will be weekly step by step demonstrations on software applications, exercises to enable students understand the weekly topics and some research works for their project.

Digital Media Design 4 - Motion Graphic Design (10 sessions x 3 hours)

In this course, students will be learning the process of implementing graphics to motion. Weekly exercises with application will enable students to conceptualize a thoughtful, creative and innovative manner. Adobe After Effects, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, will be used to create the graphic montage in motion.

Applicants must be 17 years old and above.

Prerequisites for registration of short courses

  • Applicants are required to have basic IT knowledge on digital imaging software
  • Applicant are required to attend the short courses in sequential order
  • For Digital Media Design 3 & 4, applicants need to complete Digital Media Design 1 & 2 (within six months)

Subsidies

SkillsFuture Credit
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses. Visit the SkillsFuture Credit website (www.skillsfuture.sg/credit) to choose from the courses available on the SkillsFuture Credit course directory.

Cheques should be crossed and made payable to the 'Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts' and send to:
80 Bencoolen Street (S) 189655. The student's name, NRIC/Passport number and contact number must be written on the reverse side of the cheque.

Refund of Fees

Withdrawal within 14 days before the commencement date of each short course Course fee will be refunded after deduction of S$107 as administrative charges.
Withdrawal on or after commencement date
No refunds will be given.

Cancellation/ Postponement

  • NAFA reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course without prior notice.
    In the event that the class is unable to proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, NAFA will process a full refund of the course fees.

Withdrawal/ Deferment/ Transfer

  • Withdrawal or deferment requests should be made in writing with supporting relevant documents (if any) to Continuing Education. Request for deferment is subject to approval.
  • No deferment is allowed after the 2nd lesson of each short course.
  • No transfer of course upon registration.

Replacement of Classes

  • There is strictly no replacement lesson should the participant absent himself/herself from the course.

Part Time Certificate courses (January 2018 Intake) will be commencing on the week of 2 January 2018.
