Lucien Wang: Archive, Memory, Biography

ISBN: 978-981-07-5877-6

In 2000, a China-born Singaporean music educator known as Mrs Lucien Wang donated her personal artefacts to NAFA. As part of an archiving process and documentation effort, ISEAA at NAFA and the University Scholars Programme (USP) at the National University of Singapore collaborated in 2012 to create a new module taught in the USP where undergraduates employed a range of narrative concepts to re-examine various events in the lifetime of the late Mrs Wang (1909 - 2007). Lucien Wang: Archive, Memory, Biography is a tribute to a little known cultural icon in Singapore history, whose life, values and achievements cast light on the cultural evolution of Asia Pacific.
