My artwork is inspired by the art of people watching on the bus, which has led me to reflect on the issue of fatigue culture. Commuting on the bus often involves long, tiresome journeys, and I am fascinated by the ways in which people cope with this.

This artwork consist of 3 visuals that follows 2 characters teaching about basic manners and communication skills but failing to do in a coherent way. Through visual interpretation and guessing, Robert the alien wants to learn more about human life.

Regardless of... An ongoing project about identity and self-expression. This mask is one part of the series which talks about conflict and distraught with one's sexuality. The serves as a form of protection while being loud and bold.

Intimacy Table

“The intimacy table ” consist of a deconstruct Singapore Airline Blanket which explores the concept of comfort and intimacy as layers.

Ang Zhi Yan (b.2002, Singapore) is an interdisciplinary artist currently in her final year of studies for a Diploma in Fine Art at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Zhi Yan is the recipient of several scholarships including Tan Ean Kiam Arts Scholarship (2022/23), Loh Jian Hao Scholarship (2021/22) and Tan Chay Bing Entry Scholarship (2020/21). She placed on the NAFA Dean's list (2021 and 2022) and the NAFA Talent Development Programme (2021). Zhi Yan exhibited in a group exhibition featuring artworks from Singapore's Canossian schools and organizations in South East Asia (Visual Arts Centre, 2017). She counts as a key milestone, the exhibition 'LOL-We're All Pieces of Gum', where she curated and showcased the works of 17 youths at TLDR, the living dream room (2022).
