Roles and Responsibilities

 
  • Design & develop module guides and assessments, project supervision, and provide advice to the various programmes within the School/Faculty to deliver on program outcomes:
    • Advertising
    • Graphic Communication
    • Illustration Design with Animation
    • Screen Media

    and/or component(s):

    • Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD)
    • Design Theory and Research Communication
  • Lead and/or facilitate assigned activities such as projects, productions, collaborations, etc
  • Supervise and assess assigned students’ assignments/works/projects
  • Maintain records relating to students’ progress, performance, and attendance for reporting
  • Contribute to the review of the assigned programme(s) and/or component(s)
  • Mentor and provide academic care and support, including career guidance to students
  • Keep up to date on the development of discipline-related teaching practices and learning strategies
  • Establish and maintain links with the industry and institutions to foster a total approach of academic pursuit alongside industry practice
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration and research
  • Engage and/or teach in other courses within the Faculty of Art and Design or across the Academy as appropriate, if required.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time


Requirements

 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Design and/or Media, or related discipline, preferably a Master’s degree
  • Proficient in applications, objectives, and platforms of a programme by the School
  • Minimum 5 year(s) of extensive academic and/or industry experience
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and results-oriented with the ability to engage students in their learning
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, to adapt, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • A team player with excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills
  • Strong track record of research/practice, with actual or potential for research output in your chosen field
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
