Tung Ching Yew is a visionary leader and a prominent figure in spatial design, known for his innovative approach and over 25 years of experience in design consultancy and project management. He is the Founder and Managing Director of SODA® (Spirit Of Design Analogy Pte Ltd), a multi-award-winning spatial design firm. Under his leadership, SODA has completed over 350 projects across eight countries, earning prestigious accolades such as the Gold Award at the French Design Awards 2024, the Asia Design Prize 2019, and recognition from the London International Creative Competition and the International Design Awards (U.S.).
Tung has led projects for global clients including Infineon Technologies, RHB Bank, BP De Silva Group, Changi Airport Group, and Tote Board. His design methodologies have empowered MNCs, SMEs, and government agencies to adapt and thrive. His work has been widely featured in major media outlets such as The Straits Times, The Business Times, CNA, and 8world News.
Beyond his commercial achievements, Tung is deeply committed to education, with over 15 years of experience as an adjunct lecturer at NAFA, Nanyang Polytechnic, and Temasek Polytechnic. He currently serves as an Advisory Committee Member at Singapore Polytechnic's School of Architecture and the Built Environment.
Elected President of the Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS) in 2022 and re-elected in 2024, Tung actively champions the advancement of interior design standards in Singapore. He also chaired the Singapore Interior Design Awards in 2020 and 2021.
Academically, Tung holds a Master of Arts in Design from Goldsmiths, University of London / LASALLE College of the Arts, and a First-Class Honours degree in Exhibition and Retail Design from the University of Huddersfield, where he was named Best Graduate and recipient of the Best Studentship.
