A multidisciplinary artist whose practice embodies the traditional notion of craftsmanship refined by processes of reflection and engagement. Miguel Chew, currently the academic advisor for Print in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, understands how making an art object is a revolutionary form and practice. He embraces this readily as part of his dedication and practice.

With three solo exhibitions held in Singapore, Miguel also represented Singapore in group exhibitions internationally in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Philippines, Thailand, and Ireland. He was awarded Juror’s Choice at the Philip Morris Singapore Art Awards and has exhibited with National Museum, Singapore Tyler Print Institute Gallery and at the Esplanade. His latest body of work was selected and shown in Taiwan’s Shoebox Sculpture Show 2023.

Besides his practice and research, Miguel has created large-scale works as well as public commissions with Kranji Turf Club, Esplanade, and New Majestic Hotel, Singapore.
