Since its founding in 1938, NAFA has welcomed a distinguished roster of internationally acclaimed artists in its faculty, including Singapore’s pioneer artists such as Cheong Soo Pieng, Chen Chong Swee, Chen Wen Hsi and Georgette Chen who left a profound impact on the second generation of artists in Singapore. Today, Cultural Medallion recipients such as maestro Lim Yau and dance pioneer Lim Fei Shen continue to shape the next generation of creative minds.

In addition, we are proud that our body of accomplished alumni includes 16 Cultural Medallion recipients and 15 Young Artist Award recipients, prestigious accolades conferred by the National Arts Council.

Within the academy, we honour and celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students and alumni through the presentation of the Best Graduate Awards and the Distinguished Alumni Award (previously named Distinguished Alumni Medal).
