Born in 1981, Muhamad Harezam Bin Abdul Rahman (Ezzam Rahman) is a multi-disciplinary artist whose mediums of choice are installation and performance art. His works vary from the choice of medium, concepts and strategies of presentation. He favours narratives due to the ability to convey his ideas, to inform, as well as to tease the audience. Ezzam is also known for his use of unconventional materials, such as found objects and his own bodily wastes to further his frequent research on impermanence and value verses worth.

In 2010, Ezzam graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in partnership with the University of Huddersfield, U.K.

Through the years, Ezzam has participated, initiated, organised and curated numerous local and international group exhibitions, events and festivals. He has presented his works in Australia, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and the U.K.

A joint winner of the Grand Prize for the President’s Young Talents (PYT) 2015 which recognises the depth of artists’ practice, their potential for growth and the contributions which they would potentially make to the contemporary art field in Singapore, Ezzam’s art practice has been highlighted as one that “offer[s] a multi-layered approach and represent various aspects of Singapore contemporary art through works spanning performance, new media, sculpture and sound.” The accolade is testimony that the young artist’s practices chart new dimensions and terrains in contemporary art. More importantly, it recognises new modes of thinking about our world and how we dwell in it. Ezzam was also named the winner of the People's Choice Award at the PYT by the Singapore Art Museum, garnering more than 30% of all the votes cast by the public, among five shortlisted candidates. The popular artist’s penchant for using unconventional materials in his sculptures also set him apart.

Ezzam’s contributions to art and contemporary art extend beyond his work as a participating artist in global showcases. He is also a dynamic member of Angkatan Pelukis Aneka Daya (Association of Artists of Various Resources), The Artist Village (TAV) and Sculpture Society (Singapore).

Ezzam currently teaches part-time at NAFA and is the 14th Young Artist Award recipient among the Academy’s alumni.
