Laura Kemppainen, Sari Seppelin
The Fantasia Quintet is a chamber music group consisting of five professional musicians. They started working together in 2003 and perform regularly both in Finland and abroad. Over the years the quintet has been tutored by Maurice Bourgue, Harri Mäki, Ralf Gothoni, Joy Farrall, Ilpo Mansnerus, Markus Maskuniitty and Esa Tapani.
Bassoonist Sari Seppelin graduated from Sibelius Academy in the fall of 2010 with excellent grades. She has participated in numerous master classes, and in the academic year 2007-2008 she studied under Professor Richard Galler at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna, Austria. In addition to her activities in the chamber music world, Seppelin has also worked for several symphony orchestras in Finland. Seppelin worked as Deputy Principal Bassoonist in Kymi Sinfonietta in 2007, and as Principal Bassoonist in Lappeenranta City Orchestra in spring 2011.
Oboist Laura Kemppainen graduated from the Helsinki University of Applied Sciences in 2004, and continued her studies at the Sibelius Academy, where she graduated with honours in 2010. Kemppainen has participated in numerous master classes, and in the academic year 2006-2007 she studied under Professor Stefan Schilli at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. Kemppainen has worked for several symphony orchestras in Finland, and since 2010 has also been a member of the Savonlinna Opera Festival Orchestra. Currently, Kemppainen works as Principal English Horn in the Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera.
