Written in 1988, Mama Looking For Her Cat is the late Kuo Pao Kun's groundbreaking multilingual play.
The story depicts the estranged relationship between a mother who can only speak dialect, and her children, within our fast-paced society. Losing her only companion: a cat, she risks everything she knows, entering a world totally strange and unfamiliar to her, to search for her cat. While we enter a world totally strange to us, can we still understand and feel just like the mother who bravely entered a world that has marginalised her?
Various characters use different languages to present the play, highlighting the uniqueness of this theatrical piece. Students are also presented with the challenge of having to decipher and understand the languages used.

《寻找小猫的妈妈》是郭宝崑先生在1988年最具代表性的多元创作，也开启了多语言演出的新风气。
剧中只会说方言的妈妈与上了学的孩子们产生了语言的隔阂，渐渐地无法跟进这个繁荣社会的脚步。但在失去了唯一的伴 - 猫，她毅然冒险在一个她无法识别的世界里去寻找她的猫。在我们无法听得懂周遭的语言时，可否也感受妈妈被边缘化的处境呢？
此剧的另一特点是剧中人物以不同语种交叉对话，这也将是南艺华语戏剧学生的一大挑战。
