Image+Body
engages with NAFA’s Fine Art alumni and current students in a synergy of photography and performance art practices. With a focus on the exploration of body and image as a form of gestural mark making, the project invites female artists to showcase the diverse trajectories in their practice, in a series of intimate encounters through collaboration. The project ultimately pays homage to the distinct and significant female voices, which include pioneer Georgette Chen and prolific sculptor Han Sai Por, that have emerged from NAFA’s rich history.

The artists will take as their point of departure, the body as a medium, context and tool for communication, encouraging the culturally discursive and increasingly inventive ways to engage the body in practice. They will expand upon the notion of image making in our current image-saturated hyper-universe, to seek a reconciliation of self, body and being.
