This concert showcases the versatility and artistry of NAFA’s young pianists through a diverse programme spanning the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and modern eras. From the graceful virtuosity of Liszt’s La Leggierezza and the lyrical brilliance of Granados’ Allegro de Concierto, to the dramatic intensity of Beethoven’s 32 Variations and the vibrant rhythms of Ginastera’s Suite de Danzas Criollas, the programme explores a rich spectrum of musical styles and characters.
The programme continues with Chopin’s heroic Polonaise, the elegant intricacies of Couperin’s keyboard works, and Kapustin’s distinctive blend of classical virtuosity and jazz-inflected rhythms, before culminating in the sweeping drama of Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 3. Together, these works highlight the performers’ technical command, musical expression and individuality at the keyboard.
