From icy Nordic landscapes to radiant warmth, the NAFA Orchestra, conducted by Lim Yau, presents a programme of striking contrasts featuring Sibelius’s Karelia Suite and Violin Concerto in D minor, followed by Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 in D major. So lyrical in spirit that Brahms himself joked it might require a black border, the symphony offers a warmly expressive conclusion to the evening. Together, these works trace a compelling journey across contrasting musical landscapes.
